SOLEIL Matcha Coffee Bar is a fresh, contemporary café concept located in Barranquilla, Colombia. Completed in 2025, the project introduces an elegant yet playful environment inspired by Mediterranean cafés and the
serene aesthetic of matcha culture.
The architectural language emphasizes lightness and natural warmth: curved glass façades, striped awnings, soft green tones, and refined metal furniture create an inviting atmosphere filled with sunlight and texture. The
transparent envelope blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors, allowing the café to feel open, social, and connected to its lush surroundings.
The outdoor terrace is designed as the heart of the project—airy, bright, and framed by greenery . The interior bar is compact yet highly functional, offering curated beverage preparation, display shelving, and efficient
workflow for staff.
SOLEIL stands as a boutique hospitality concept that merges lifestyle, wellness, and design sophistication.
The design process began with a study of user flow, optimizing bar placement, terrace circulation, and seating geometry . DR22 developed a layout that maximizes visibility from the exterior while maintaining a
comfortable, shaded environment for guests.
Through BIM methodology, the design team coordinated the curved glazing, custom furniture, awning structure, and interior shelving with millimetric precision. Material selection focused on durability suitable for tropical
climates—stone-look flooring, treated metal furniture, and sun-resistant fabrics.
Brand integration played a central role, with color palette, textures, and signage reflecting a light, natural, and youthful identity aligned with the café’s concept.
