About the project

The DR1 Residence is a luxury single-family home located in the exclusive region of Llanogrande, Antioquia, an area known for its natural landscapes, mild climate, and high-end residential developments. The

architectural concept harmonizes sculptural geometry, warm materials, and transparent façades to create a home that is both expressive and intimately connected to its surroundings.

The residence is composed of two primary elements: a horizontal wing with floor-to-ceiling glazing and wooden lattices, and a striking vertical cylindrical tower wrapped in rhythmic concrete fins. These elements are

connected by a floating volume that creates shaded terraces and seamless transitions between interior and exterior environments.

A large pool terrace extends toward the landscape, framing distant mountain views and enhancing the home’s resort-like atmosphere. At night, integrated lighting emphasizes the vertical geometry and creates a dramatic

architectural presence.

DR1 Residence embodies DR22’s signature approach, blending craftsmanship, contemporary detailing, and the use of BIM for precision coordination.

Step by step project

The design process began with an analysis of the site’s topography and views, maximizing the home’s orientation toward sunset panoramas and natural ventilation. DR22 developed a layout that separates public and

private areas while maintaining fluid circulation and abundant natural light.

BIM modeling allowed precise coordination of structural elements, façade systems, custom shading fins, and integrated lighting features. Material selection focused on durability and warmth, combining natural wood,

high-performance glazing, and textured concrete.

Landscape integration played a key role in the project, creating a soft transition between the house, gardens, and surrounding terrain.
