The Bordeaux Steel Headquarters Offices were designed as a contemporary workplace for a private European steel manufacturing company . Located in the metropolitan area of Bordeaux, the project reflects a balance
between efficiency, elegance, and corporate identity .
The office space features a clean, minimalist aesthetic defined by white volumetric surfaces, perforated acoustic ceilings, glazed partitions, and integrated shelving. The open-plan layout promotes collaboration among
departments while providing visual continuity and natural light throughout the workspace.
Key areas include a central open workstation zone, executive offices, meeting rooms, quiet-focus booths, and a series of flexible collaboration spaces. Materials were selected for durability and sophistication, subtly
referencing the client’s connection to the steel industry through metallic tones, structural clarity, and refined detailing.
The project combines Scandinavian-style simplicity with French modern sensibility, creating an environment focused on productivity, comfort, and brand representation.
The design process began with a spatial analysis of the existing shell, identifying circulation flows, daylight entry points, and acoustic requirements. DR22 developed a layout that maximizes workstation density without
compromising comfort or accessibility .
Through BIM coordination, every millimeter of the interior was modeled—including custom shelving, glass partitions, lighting fixtures, and ergonomic furniture layouts—ensuring precise execution on site. The lighting
strategy combines linear fixtures and indirect ambient illumination to create a bright, efficient work atmosphere.
Material selection prioritized performance and timelessness: acoustic ceiling panels, high-resistance flooring, matte white finishes, and brushed metallic accents. Throughout the project, DR22 focused on building a
workspace capable of supporting both high-level management and day-to-day operational staff.
